Dr. Stephen Howell receives honor from German Arthroplasty Society: 4 notes

Adventist Health Lodi (Calif.) Memorial orthopedic surgeon Stephen Howell, MD, was awarded an honorary membership to the German Arthroplasty Society, according to Lodi News-Sentinel.

Four notes:

1. Dr. Howell has expertise in total knee replacement, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and meniscus surgery.

2. In 2005, Dr. Howell developed the total knee replacement method known as kinematic alignment; the approach is designed to improve placement of the knee implant to create more consistency and reliability in patient outcomes.

3. Dr. Howell also designed the 65 Tibial Guide and EZLoc/WasherLoc ACLreconstruction system for Zimmer Biomet Sports Medicine.

4. After earning his medical degree from Chicago-based Northwestern University School of Medicine, Dr. Howell completed his residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
