Dr. Stephen Gryzlo named head team physician of the Chicago Cubs

Stephen Gryzlo, MD, has been named head team physician of Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs.

Dr. Gryzlo has served as team orthopedist for the past 19 seasons and is also a professor of orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, according to a Feb. 22 news release.

He specializes in orthopedic sports medicine with a secondary specialization in shoulder and elbow surgery.

The team also named Christopher Hogrefe, MD, as head team internist after previously serving as a team physician for the organization.
