Dr. Navarro was formally appointed Feb. 13, he said in a March 13 email to Becker’s. He is a shoulder and sports medicine specialist at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and works out of South Bay Medical Center in Harbor City, Calif.

“Being selected by the AALOS is a great honor, and I know it will be a labor of love as we honor our founders like Ramon Jimenez and ready the organization for what is sure to be a wave of young Latinx orthopedic surgeons with a renewed spirit and amplified organizational structure that is able to continue to improve the quality and accessibility of musculoskeletal health care for the Hispanic population in the U.S.,” he said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
