Here are five thoughts:
1. Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Schaefer will return to Oaklawn. He has been working as an independent orthopedic surgeon, and helping Kurt Piatkowski, DO, in Oaklawn Hospital’s emergency room since January.
2. Dr. Schaefer specializes in knee, hip and shoulder joint replacement surgery as well as sports medicine and knee and shoulder arthroscopy.
3. He also performs knee reconstructive surgery.
4. A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Schaefer is also affiliated with the American Medical Association, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Mid-America Orthopaedic Society, the National Orthopaedic Education Society and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
5. Oaklawn hopes to offer a complete span of orthopedic surgery services.
