Dr. Richard Ferkel opens orthopedic practice in California: 3 things to know

Richard Ferkel, MD, has opened a practice in Thousand Oaks, Calif., according to the Ventura County Star.

Here are three things to know about Dr. Ferkel:

 

1. He specializes in cartilage restoration of the ankle, arthroscopic joint surgery and sports-related injury treatment.

 

2. He is the director of Van Nuys-based Southern California Orthopedic Institute’s sports medicine fellowship program and is a clinical professor at University of California, Los Angeles.

 

3. He is a consultant of the NFL, MLB and NBA and has worked with U.S. Olympic and Special Olympics USA teams.
