Ramon Cugat, MD, PhD, performed knee surgery on Riqui Puig, a midfielder for the LA Galaxy.
Dr. Cugat completed an anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive surgery on Mr. Puig’s left knee, according to a Jan. 3 news release from the LA Galaxy.
Mr. Puig underwent a similar procedure on his left knee in 2024.
The team expects Mr. Puig will make a complete recovery before the 2027 MLS season, the release said.
Dr. Cugat is an orthopedic surgeon and head of services of orthopedic surgery and traumatology of Instituto Cugat in Barcelona, Spain.
