Dr. Rose will begin overseeing the publication Jan. 1, 2022, and he plans to expand its digital presence, according to an April 5 news release. He will succeed William Levine, MD, who was the editor-in-chief for six years.

Dr. Rose has been involved with JAAOS for almost a decade and is currently deputy editor of the oncology section.

“I’ve grown up with the journal,” he said. “With every article that I’ve been involved with, I’ve learned something, so it is as much a benefit to me as I hope to other members of the Academy.”

Dr. Rose is a professor of orthopedics and division chair of orthopedic oncology at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
