Dr. Peter Asnis performs knee surgery on Boston Red Sox Clay Buchholz

Peter Asnis, MD, a sports medicine orthopedic surgeon, will perform knee surgery on Red Sox righthander Clay Buchholz, according to a Boston Globe report.

Dr. Asnis provides care at Massachusetts General Hospital and is an instructor in orthopedic surgery Harvard Medical School, both located in Boston. He is the head team physician for the Boston Bruins and head team orthopedic surgeon for the Boston Red Sox.

Dr. Asnis will repair a torn meniscus in Mr. Buchholz’s right knee, according to the report.
