Patrick Peavy, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Birmingham-based OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports, performed the first Oxford Cementless Partial Knee replacement surgery in Alabama.
The FDA-approved procedure is linked with better range of motion, lower risk of complications and faster recoveries, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
The implant offers patients a bone-sparing, less invasive option that is designed for long-term fixation.
Dr. Peavy joined OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports in 2020 and specializes in hip and knee procedures.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
