Norman Waldrop, MD, performed foot surgery on Joe Burrow, a quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, according to a Sept. 19 report from The Cincinnati Enquirer.
The surgery was to repair a Grade 3 turf toe injury that Mr. Burrow suffered during a game on Sept. 14.
The procedure was performed at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Birmingham, Ala.
The team expects Mr. Burrow to miss at least three months, but he could return to action at some point during the 2025 NFL season, the report said.
Dr. Waldrop is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery at The Foot & Ankle Center at Andrews Sports Medicine. He is also an orthopedic consultant for the New Orleans Saints, another NFL team.
