Neal ElAttrache, MD, is set to perform shoulder surgery on Griffin Conine, an outfielder for the Miami Marlins, on April 29.

The exact operation is not yet determined, but Dr. ElAttrache will repair Mr. Conine’s dislocated left shoulder, according to an April 27 news release.

Mr. Conine suffered the dislocation during a game on April 19 when he jammed his arm into the ground during a head-first slide.

The team will not have a timeline for Mr. Conine’s return until after the surgery is performed.

Dr. ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He is also the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Rams.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
