Dr. Neal ElAttrache to operate on Cleveland Guardians pitcher

Neal ElAttrache, MD, is set to operate on Sam Hentges, a pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians, on Sept. 18 in Los Angeles.

Dr. ElAttrache is set to perform surgery on Mr. Hentges in response to an injury involving Mr. Hentges’ capsule and labrum in his left shoulder, according to a Sept. 10 news release.

Mr. Hentges underwent an evaluation of his shoulder by Dr. ElAttrache on Sept. 5.

The rehabilitation and recovery time for the procedure is 12 to 18 months, the release said.

Dr. ElAttrache is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, another MLB team, and the Los Angeles Rams, the city’s NFL franchise. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to two NHL teams—the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks—as well as the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers.
