Dr. Michelle Carlson operates on Milwaukee Bucks center

Michelle Carlson, MD, a hand and upper extremity surgeon at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, has operated on Milwaukee Bucks center Jericho Sims, according to a March 17 report from ESPN.

Mr. Sims underwent a procedure March 17 to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb. He will miss at least four weeks of play but is expected to return for the NBA playoffs. 

Mr. Sims sustained the hand injury March 15 during a game against the Indiana Pacers, and played a final game against the Oklahoma City Thunder March 16.
