The surgery took place at the Center for Advanced Medicine in St. Louis, according to an April 20 news release from the NHL team.
Dr. Brunt is an orthopedic surgeon with Washington University Physicians in St. Louis. He also serves as a professor of surgery at the university.
Dr. Vyas is the Penguin’s head team physician and an orthopedic surgeon at UPMC Sports Medicine in Pittsburgh.
The recovery timeline for the surgery is eight to 10 weeks, the release said.
