Dr. Melissa Kounine joins Washington Orthopaedic Center

Melissa Kounine, DO, joined the Washington Orthopaedic Center in Centralia, according to The Chronicle.

Dr. Kounine is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon experienced in joint replacements of the hip and knee. She received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine, and underwent orthopedic oncology fellowship training at the University of Miami.

After her fellowship training, Dr. Kounine became an assistant professor, chief of orthopedic oncology and associate director of the orthopedic surgery residency program at University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio. She relocated to the Pacific Northwest and worked with Kaiser Permanente in the Portland area before joining a private orthopedic practice in Hillsboro, Ore.

Dr. Kounine is now accepting patients at Washington Orthopaedic Center’s Centralia and Olympia locations.
