Matthew Lavery, MD, is the new CEO of Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy and OrthoIndy Hospital.
Dr. Lavery, an orthopedic surgeon, has served as president of the board of directors at OrthoIndy since January 2024, according to a Dec. 15 news release. In that role he worked on the alignment between OrthoIndy and Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center and upcoming practice openings.
As CEO, he’ll lead ongoing work to enhance the patient experience, bolster operations and support physicians and staff. Dr. Lavery will continue his clinical work in the role.
“It is an honor to step into this role and continue supporting the mission and people of OrthoIndy in a new way,” Dr. Lavery said in the release. “I look forward to working with our physicians, staff and community partners to build on our strengths and ensure OrthoIndy remains a trusted destination for those seeking advanced, patient-centered orthopedic care.”
Dr. Lavery succeeds John Ryan, who is now Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health’s chief strategy officer.
