Dr. Matt Lewington joins Delta Hospital to operate a new orthopedic unit: 4 notes

Orthopedic surgeon Matt Lewington, MD, is joining the staff of British Columbia, Canada-based Delta Hospital, the Delta Optimist reports.

Here’s what you should know.

 

1. Dr. Lewington’s arrival marks the debut of the hospital’s new orthopedic surgical unit.

 

2. The hospital will now offer same day surgical operations including those for foot and ankle injuries, bunions, arthritis and arthroscopy.

 

3. Dr. Lewington earned his medical degree from Nova Scotia, Canada-based Dalhousie University. He stayed at the university for his residency and completed two fellowships; one at the Halifax, Canada-based Nova Scotia Health Authority and the other at Australia’s Adelaide OrthoSports Clinic.

 

4. He is a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Canada
