1. Dr. Patel earned his medical degree from Philadelphia-based Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He completed a residency at Philadelphia-based Temple University and a fellowship at Jackson-based Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.
2. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroplasty Association of North America.
3. Dr. Patel recently began performing a muscle-sparing total knee replacement procedure called The Jiffy Knee. In this procedure, Dr. Patel moves the tendon and muscle to the side to replace the knee joint. The procedure is intended to shorten recovery times.
