Dr. Laura Forese to serve as NIH Clinical Center Hospital Board’s new chairperson: 4 notes

Laura Forese, MD, was recently named chairperson of the newly-formed National Institutes of Health Clinical Center Hospital Board.

1. In her new role, Dr. Forese will lead a panel of external advisors that will counsel the clinical center on key issues, including management and finances.

 

2. The hospital board will replace the current NIH Advisory Board for Clinical Research.

 

3. Dr. Forese is the executive vice president and COO of NewYork-Presbyterian.

 

4. Trained in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Forese spent four years as vice chair in Columbia University Medical Center’s department of orthopedic surgery before joining NewYork-Presbyterian.
