San Diego Padres starter Yu Darvish was recently treated by Keith Meister, MD, for elbow inflammation before the start of the MLB season, according to a March 24 report from YardBarker.

Mr. Darvish, a veteran on the team, will miss the start of the 2025-2026 season; however, Dr. Meister believes he will not require surgery.

The team is prioritizing having Mr. Darvish fully prepared to play later in the season, according to the report.

Dr. Meister specializes in treating a number of high-level professional athletes. He is an orthopedic surgeon at TMI Sports Medicine in Arlington, Texas.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
