Keith Meister, MD, performed elbow surgery on Zach Eflin, a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.
Dr. Meister completed a Tommy John surgery on Mr. Eflins’ right elbow, according to an April 8 news release from Major League Baseball.
Mr. Eflin underwent imaging on his right elbow and received a second opinion during a visit with Dr. Meister.
He will miss the rest of the 2026 MLB season and will likely miss the start of the 2027 season.
Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
