Keith Meister, MD, performed shoulder surgery on Anthony Santander, an outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays on Feb. 11.

Dr. Meister completed a labral surgery on Mr. Santander’s left shoulder, according to a Feb. 10 report from mlb.com.

Mr. Santander dealt with an ongoing left shoulder injury during the 2025 season, which involved a subluxation and inflammation.

The procedure will cause Mr. Santander to miss about five to six months, the report said.

Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
