Keith Meister, MD, performed elbow surgery on Logan Evans, a pitcher for the Seattle Mariners, according to a Jan. 30 report from mlb.com.
Dr. Meister completed an internal brace procedure to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in Mr. Evans’ right arm.
The elbow issue occurred while Mr. Evans was ramping up his offseason throwing program.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Meister on Jan. 23 in Texas. The expected recovery timeline is about 12 months, meaning Mr. Evans will miss the entirety of the upcoming 2026 MLB season.
Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
