Dr. Keith Meister operates on Miami Marlins pitcher

Keith Meister, MD, performed elbow surgery on Ronny Henriquez, a pitcher for the Miami Marlins, according to a Dec. 22 report from mlb.com

Dr. Meister completed a UCL reconstruction surgery with an associated internal brace on Mr. Henriquez’s right elbow. 

Mr. Henriquez experienced tightness and discomfort in his elbow while beginning his throwing preparation for the upcoming MLB season. The procedure will cause Mr. Henriquez to miss the entirety of the 2026 season.

Dr. Meister is the director of sports medicine at the Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Surgery in Arlington and is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers, another MLB team.
