Dr. Joseph Marotta dies at 57: 4 notes

Orthopedic surgeon Joseph Marotta, MD, has passed away at the age of 57, according to a Daily Gazette report.

1. Dr. Marotta was in private practice in Troy, N.Y.

 

2. He had previously served as chief of the division of orthopedic surgery at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.

 

3. Dr. Marotta also ran Medicus Christi, a charitable organization that aimed to bring medical care and training to underserved regions globally.

 

4. He and his organization had recently set up an orthopedic hospital in Ghana, Africa.
