Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Hance is retiring after 35 years in practice with Bay Street. His retirement is effective June 30.
2. Dr. Hance earned his medical degree from Wayne State Medical School in Detroit and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Mich.
3. In addition to running his practice, Dr. Hance served as chief of surgery and a member of his hospital’s board.
4. He is currently medical director for surgical services at McLaren’s Cheboygan Campus.
