Dr. John Noble use robotic arm for orthopedic surgeries in Louisiana: 4 observations

CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, La., now offers orthopedic surgeries with the Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, according to 7 KPLC.

Here are four observations:

 

1. Patients can undergo RIO-assisted total hip and partial knee replacement surgeries.

 

2. The robotic arm system includes a preop plan that allows surgeons to visualize a patient’s anatomy via CT scan and three-dimensional imaging.

 

3. RIO is expected to receive FDA approval for total knee replacement in March 2016.

 

4. Stryker Orthopaedics develops the RIO system.
