Dr. Felicity Fishman joins Loyola University Medical Center: 5 takeaways

Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., welcomed Felicity Fishman, MD, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Here are five takeaways:

 

1. Dr. Fishman treats upper extremity conditions in children, including polydactyly, syndactyly and clinodactyly.

 

2. In adults, Dr. Fishman specializes in carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, distal radius factures and trauma. She also has expertise in nerve transfers and nerve bypasses to treat brachial plexus injuries.

 

3. Dr. Fishman will also serve as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

 

4. Dr. Fishman underwent fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She is also fellowship trained in pediatric upper extremity surgery from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

 

5. After earning her medical degree from New York Medical College in New York City, Dr. Fishman completed her residency at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C.
