Dr. Eugene Hong named chief medical officer for World Lacrosse

Eugene Hong, MD, was named chief medical officer for World Lacrosse, a volunteer position.

Dr. Hong will continue to serve as chief physician executive of the Medical University of South Carolina Physicians and MUSC Health in Charleston, according to a June 19 news release from the university. 

He has volunteered for USA Lacrosse for 15 years, serving as a team physician for the women’s team in 2011 and the men’s team in 2016. 

Dr. Hong has more than 25 years of sports medicine experience and has served as an NCAA team physician for more than 20 years, the release said.
