Eric Gardner, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Banner McKee Medical Center in Loveland, Colo., recently completed his 100th robotic knee surgery.
Dr. Gardner uses the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution for total knee replacement, which improves precision and patient outcomes, according to an Aug. 4 news release from Banner Health.
During knee replacement procedures, a surgeon uses a robotic-assisted device, a high-speed camera, optical trackers and data screens.
The VELYS system has been provided to more than 1.5 million patients worldwide, the release said.
