Greenville, S.C.-based Prisma Health has named Douglas Lundy, MD, as president of its Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute.
As president of the institute, Dr. Lundy will lead more than 180 physicians and advanced practice providers, providing strategic and clinical leadership. The organization serves as the orthopedic and sports medicine provider for Clemson University, the University of South Carolina and South Carolina State University, according to a Sept. 29 news release from Prisma Health shared with Becker’s.
Dr. Lundy most recently served as senior vice president of medical services, chair of orthopedic surgery and an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke’s University Health Network. He also spent 16 years with Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics.
In addition, he has served as president of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and president of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Lundy will join Prisma Health in the fall.
Prisma Health’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute is the ninth largest orthopedic and sports medicine program in the U.S., the release said.
