Orthopedic surgeon Derrick Hickey, MD, is campaigning for a place on the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners, according a WHQR report.

1. Dr. Hickey owns and practices at Port City Orthopaedics in Portsmouth, N.H., which he founded in 2005.

 

2. He is a past president of the New Hanover Pender Medical Society and has served as a delegate to the NC Medical Society.

 

3. He completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

 

4. He is running for office on the Republican ticket.
