David Porter, MD, performed foot surgery on Max Strus, a forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Mr. Strus suffered a Jones fracture in his left foot during offseason training, according to an Aug. 26 news release from the NBA.
Dr. Porter performed the surgery at Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Indianapolis in consultation with Cavaliers team physician James Rosneck, MD.
The team expects Mr. Strus to resume basketball activities in three to four months, and he is expected to miss at least the first month of the upcoming NBA season, the release said.
Dr. Porter is an orthopedic foot and ankle specialist at Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. He also serves as an orthopedic team physician for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts.
