Dr. Christopher Nagy performs 1st TJR procedure at Salisbury VAMC

Christopher Nagy, MD, performed the first total joint replacement procedure Salisbury (Va.) W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center, according to a Salisbury Post report.

Dr. Nagy performed the procedure, a total knee replacement, earlier this month. This marks the beginning of the medical center offering total hip and knee replacements. Dr. Nagy said that the team is starting with one joint replacement a week to evaluate and improve the program. Eventually, four total joint replacement procedures per week will be performed though the program, according to the report.
