Professional golfer Tiger Woods underwent Achilles surgery on March 11.
Charlton Stucken, MD, performed a minimally invasive left Achilles tendon repair on Mr. Woods, according to a statement on X.
Mr. Woods ruptured his left Achilles while training and practicing at his home.
There is not an immediate timeline for his return to competition, but Mr. Woods is expected to make a full recovery.
Dr. Stucken is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Fla.
