The arthroscopic procedure will be on Mr. Whitlock’s right hip, the report said. It will address an impingement and end Mr. Whitlock’s season. The baseball player’s hip problems have plagued him all season, and he has been seen with a pronounced limp.
Mr. Whitlock is expected to be fully recovered by spring training in February, the report said.
