Dr. Brian Lohrbach hits milestone after 8 years of anterior hip replacements

Brian Lohrbach, MD, of Appleton, Wis.-based Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley, logged his 1,000th anterior hip replacement June 17, according to local ABC affiliate WBAY.

Three things to know:

1. Dr. Lohrbach began exclusively using the anterior approach about eight years ago.

2. Dr. Lohrbach performs up to four hip replacements a day, twice a week. His procedure times average around an hour and 15 minutes.

3. The approach facilitates faster postoperative recovery, which enhances patient satisfaction, Dr. Lohrbach told WBAY.
