The app, Hurt!, was designed to help injured patients connect with local physicians to establish a treatment plan and avoid added costs such as emergency room visits.
The app uses ZIP codes to match patients with orthopedic specialists in their area.
Dr. Miller, a sports medicine specialist at the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in St. Joseph, Mo., told News-Press Now that telemedicine apps will continue to pave the way for the future of healthcare.
Hurt! is available to download for Apple and Android devices.
