Dr. Anthony J. Bianco Jr. dies at 89

Anthony J. Bianco, Jr., MD, served as a Mayo Clinic surgeon in Rochester from 1958 to 1991, according to PostBulletin.com. During his time at Mayo, Dr. Bianco was on the board of governors and the board of trustees. He also served as Mayo’s orthopedics department chairman.

The co-founder of Pediatric Society of North America, Dr. Bianco served as the organization’s president in 1983.

 

He was among the frontrunners to specialize in pediatric orthopedics. Throughout his career, he performed thousands of procedures, including spine, hip and foot surgery.
