Here’s what you should know.
1. Dr. Assenmacher will be working out of Ida, Mich., at ProMedica’s orthopedic branch.
2. He grew up in Ida and graduated from Ida High School in 1997.
3. Dr. Assenmacher’s career began after he earned his medical degree from the University of Toledo in Ohio. He completed a residency at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital and two fellowships: one at the Aspen (Colo.) Sports Medicine Foundation and the other at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
4. Dr. Assenmacher is excited to be back in Ida. He primarily treats athletic knee injuries and shoulder problems.
