Dr. Ali Oliashirazi establishes endowed scholarship: 3 notes

Ali Oliashirazi, MD, and his wife have pledged to fund a new endowed scholarship at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, W.Va., according to a Huntington News report.

Here are three notes:

 

1. Dr. Oliashirazi is the founding chair of the department of orthopedics and vice dean of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

 

2. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and specializes in total joint replacement.

 

3. The scholarship will be known as the Oliashirazi Family Scholarship, and it will be available for first-year medical students who have overcome hardships to attend medical school.
