Orthopedic medtech company DePuy Synthes is investing about $350,000 to build an orthopedic education and training center in downtown Rochester, Minn., to support Mayo Clinic staff using the company’s technologies, according to a July 23 Post Bulletin report.
The 2,600-square-foot facility is under construction and will provide training across DePuy Synthes’ orthopedic portfolio, including joint reconstruction, trauma, spine, sports medicine and its Velys robot-assisted knee replacement platform.
The center expands a longstanding relationship between DePuy Synthes and Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic’s orthopedic residency and fellowship programs. DePuy Synthes plans to staff the site with local orthopedic specialists who will provide education and customer training.
The space previously housed Mayo Clinic’s International Hospitality Center and later Patient Care International, according to the report.
