She began the role Jan. 6 and previously was the Jerome J Gilden, MD, Distinguished Professor and vice chair of orthopedic surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Miller also worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dr. Miller is a leader in orthopedic trauma and served on the board of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons. She also led the orthopaedic section of the National Committee on Trauma.
She earned her medical degree from Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
