Medical device company CurvaFix has received 510(k) clearance for its CurvaFix Low Profile System for fixation of pelvic fractures.

The new system has smaller head geometry for a lower-profile construct, implants with increased compression and extended implant lengths, according to a Sept. 3 news release from CurvaFix.

Through clinical experiences from surgeons, the CurvaFix system can reduce pain, support earlier mobility and improve recovery compared to conventional straight implants.

There are an estimated 200,000 pelvic fractures in the U.S. each year, the release said.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
