Corpus Christi Medical Center-Doctors Regional earns Joint Commission hip & knee surgery certification

Corpus Christi (Texas) Medical Center-Doctors Regional earned certification for knee and hip replacement surgery from The Joint Commission, the first for any hospital in Nueces County, according to a Corpus Christi Caller-Times report.

The medical center started offering hip and knee replacement procedures around a year ago, said Justin Klimisch, MD.

 

“It’s a great feeling. It’s been a lot of hard work, coordinating with the different departments in the hospital to get this accomplished,” said Nurse Practitioner Diana Wegner, the orthopedic coordinator at Doctors Regional hospital to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.
