This makes CJRI the only ISO 9001:2008-certified healthcare facility in Connecticut. There are 80 healthcare providers who have achieved the certification nationwide, awarded by DNV-GL Certification.

“The ISO certification program gave us new measurement tools and we are proud that our success has received this impressive recognition,” said Steven Schutzer, MD, Director of the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute.

The certification requires healthcare providers to undergo a three-year implementation process that includes:

•    Developing a formal quality management system
•    Management review process
•    Employee training
•    Process documentation
•    Establishing process metrics and pre-audit initial assessment

The providers monitor patient care delivery and measures quality to eliminate and prevent errors.
