Connecticut hospital orthopedic center celebrates 5 years, multiple milestones

Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute at MidState Medical in Meriden celebrated its fifth anniversary, the hospital said April 15.

Four things to know:

1. In the last five years, the institute grew to 61 physicians, according to a news release.

2. It was the first in the country to receive advanced certification in spine surgery from The Joint Commission.

3. The institute received advanced hip and knee certification from The Joint Commission and five-star ratings from Healthgrades for total knee replacement and spinal fusions.

4. More than 4,000 surgeries were completed at the facility in fiscal year 2021.
