Colorado orthopedic practice suffers data breach

Denver-based Western Orthopaedics has experienced a data incident impacting patient information, according to a May 5 report from Claim Depot

In September 2025, an unauthorized third party accessed data from Western Orthopaedics’ system. The practice’s analysis of the incident concluded March 3, 2026. 

Patient information that may have been impacted includes full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, financial account information and protected health information.

Western Orthopaedics submitted disclosures of the breach to the Massachusetts and Texas Attorney General. 

At this point, about 400 Massachusetts and Texas individuals were impacted by the breach, the report said.
