The Christus Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Beaumont, Texas, has launched a Saturday clinic to give student-athletes quicker access to care during football season, according to a Sept. 4 12NewsNow report.

The clinic, open 8-11 a.m. through November, focuses on acute, non-emergent injuries from late-week games, including concussions. Christus orthopedic surgeon Michael Trice, MD, said the program helps athletes avoid waiting until Monday for treatment, according to the report.

Care is free of charge and staffed by orthopedic and concussion specialists.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
