Chicago surgeons give back — 5 things to know about ‘Soles 4 Souls’

Simon Lee, MD, and Johnny Lin, MD, from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and other Chicago healthcare professionals from Rush University Medical Center will provide shoes, socks and medical care to the homeless.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The event, “Soles 4 Soles,” provides care for an estimated 100 people at Franciscan House of Mary and Joseph.

 

2. Providers will treat an array of foot problems including frostbite, fungus and several painful foot conditions.

 

3. The event will take place on Dec. 1, 2015 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

4. “Soles 4 Souls” is affiliated with Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization which provides shoes to people in need around the globe.

 

5. In 2007, Dr. Lee began the Chicago chapter of “Soles 4 Souls.” At the event, Red Wing Shoe Company will donate shoes and Dignity U Wear will provide socks to the men and women of the shelter.
